Julegalskap
December 21, 2009 at 5:55 pm | Posted in Random | 2 CommentsIn norway, Christmas or Jul is a big thing. And I mean a BIG thing. As soon as the month december begins most norwegians are infected with this disease called: Julegalskap (christmas craziness) symptoms include: Playing christmas songs non stop, decorating the house with lights, nisse’s and all other kind of things, an uncontrollable urge for christmas food such as: Ribbe or Pinnekjøtt and almost everyday have a special christmas celebration, whether this Sankta Lucia or Nisse Dag or something else they came up with: They celebrate it.
All joking aside. Apart from that I’m not used to christmas having such a big impact on me and I don’t look forward to it half as much as norwegians do. It is pretty cosy. I think they’re overdoing it sometimes but it’s certainly fun to celebrate christmas and for example make gingerbread houses and trains. Very fun!
